In Miękinia, adjacent to Środa Śląska - a historic place for wine-growing, Ewa and Lech Jaworek have founded their vineyards back in 2001. The main goal of this project was to grow grape (Vitis vinifera) for the production of regional wine, mead based on grape juice, fruit liqueurs and spirits based on honey. Apart from restoring crop and wine production, the owners of the vineyard found it important to restore former glory of the eighteenth century buildings situated the spot. These structures have retained their unique character, although they have been thoroughly adapted to the production, storage and sale of wine. The plantation covers 24 hectares of vines, on which we are testing over 30 grape varieties, including those imported from Germany, Austria and France. The first grapes were harvested in 2003. With gained experience, the development of the vineyard and the desire to create wines typical for Lower Silesia, we now produce a wide range of wines including varieties such as: Saint Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Dunkelfelder, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Rivaner, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Auxerrois Blanc. In wine production we follow the rules of ecological and organic farming. In addition to traditional production of white and red wines, which were incorporated on the List of Traditional and Regional Products by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2006 , we manufacture products on the basis of grape juice produced meads. This interesting combination of white and red grape juice combined with honey varieties (acacia, lime, honeydew and buckwheat) aging in oak wood, gives a unique liquor, based on the tradition of local grape mead production. We invite you to visit Jaworek Vineyards in Miękinia. During the visit, guests learn about the history of the place. While visiting we present the process of wine production from fruit harvest to bottled product, ready for sale. The tour ends with wine and honey tasting in our newly renovated tasting room. The vineyard has a restaurant, which serves dishes made from Lower Silesian products. Visiting the vineyards, enjoying a regional meal combined with wine tasting is an excellent idea suited for family celebrations, parties with friends or business meetings.
