Sustainable farming respectful to the environment is the natural standard for us. This includes short distances- a fresh harvest straight from the field brings unforgettable enjoyment directly to you. During harvest time you can find in our farm shop, alongside our asparagus and strawberries, a variety of regional products which have been carefully selected. Since 1991, our boss Ralf Christ has been cultivating asparagus - first in the region Böhl-Iggelheim and later also around Neustadt and Grünstadt. Over the years, an extraordinary amount of varieties and different cultivation methods have been developed. But one thing remains, hard and honest work by hand. Without our industrious seasonal workers from Poland and Romania the harvest at QUARTIER CHRIST would not be possible. Therefore understandably, we practice better than the legally defined social and labor conditions. The main fact which speaks for us is the majority of employees have returned here for many years. We take great pride in the loyalty our customers in the farm shop and in retail outlets have shown throughout the years. Also many restaurants and wholesale partners belong to our longterm customers here at Quartier CHRIST. Thanks to a very early ripening and high-yielding variety, the three-layered foils like a tunnel over the asparagus, and the power of the Pfalz sun, in most years we can offer the first asparagus as soon as by end of March. This is how we have made a name for ourselves in the region and beyond. Our goal at QUARTIER CHRIST is progressive technical development. This makes our work both more effective and better for the environment. This also makes us proud: When in 1999 Ralf Christ moved the company to Neustadt, he acquired a portion of the former French Turenne barracks. He extensively renovated and preserved the heritage-protected buildings. For this he received the award for Building Owner 2004 by the city of Neustadt and the Chamber of Architects Rhineland-Palatinate. Therefore, QUARTIER CHRIST is today an attractive urban development address.
