The foundation for today's VDP.Weingut was laid by the parents with their mixed agricultural business until well into the 1990s. With the vintage 2000, Steffen Rings took over and put the switch on to 100% wine. Some time later, Andreas Rings returned from his training in the Rheinhessen winery Wagner-Stempfel, and since 2008 the two brothers - supported by their sister Simone - run the Freinsheim winery together. Half of the vineyards are planted with red and white vines. The winery manages 35 hectares in the best vineyards of Freinsheim, Kallstadt, Ungstein, and Leistadt. Since 2017 the wines are certified organic. On different soils - sand / gravel, loess / Terra Rossa and limestone - they grow predominantly Riesling and Pinot Noir.
