Schlösschen Hildenbrandseck is a culture on its own: You live in a magically historical estate that has four elegant, individually decorated rooms. Breakfast is served on a big, shared slab table in the breakfast room. History of the estate The first officially mentioned owner of Schlößchen Hildenbrandseck was Marx von Hiltbrandseck, who was a prominent clerk in the Palatinate administration. Starting in 1528, he also served as a ‘Landschreiber’, a historical version of the treasurer, and worked under the elector Ludwig V of Palatinate. Schlößchen Hildenbrandseck was built in Renaissance style in 1573/74. For hundreds of years, the castle has been located between the villages of Königsbach and Gimmeldingen, surrounded by vineyards. It sits on the southern shore of the little stream Erlenbach, which used to be the border between the historical Kurpfalz (Electoral Palatinate) and Hochstift Speyer. In the early nineteenth century (1803), after having been auctioned off to the state, the castle was significantly remodeled and extended. Today the listed estate stands tall as a two-winged annex, and was extensively restored between 2007 and 2012 by the von Oettingen family. What we offer Schlößchen Hildenbrandseck has four exclusive rooms (30 – 38 sqm, high ceilings) with naturally lit bathrooms as well as further spacious domiciles: a reading nook with maps, literature from the region and a coffee bar, the former winepress hall with a fireplace and a selection of wines (wine fridge), beautiful sauna (Finnish sauna) in the old defense wall with a patio outside and an outdoor whirlpool, a cozy courtyard and a garden with chairs and sunbeds. Parking is available for our guests. GRANDER water, Internet access (Wi-Fi) & Massage. Facilities in our rooms: luxurious double beds (180 x 200 cm, or 200 x 200 cm) with exquisite bedding, antiques, timbered oak floors, silk curtains, Bose sound system, TV upon request, bathrooms with natural light and floor heating, full-length showers with rain shower heads, hairdryers, and bathrobes. Bathrooms in room One and Three also have bathtubs. Our breakfast includes organic produce from the region. Please visit our homepage for detailed information. Welcome to the Schlösschen Hildenbrandseck, Susanne von Oettingen
